  • Dead Horse Point Overlook

    State park, so there is a fee, but worth it for the view. There's a paved path you can walk for as long as you want as well. Can combine this with Canyonlands/Grand View point - it's on the way.

  • Grand View Point Overlook

    In Canyonlands National Park: Epic view over some wild rock formations and mountains. One of my favorite spots - short hikes around the area as well if you want to get away from the viewpoint.

  • Needles Overlook

    This is further south maybe like an hour or 1.5 hours drive from Moab, but worth a side trip if time. More epic views, but a different part of Canyonlands with the Needles (spiky rock formations) in the distance.

  • Moki Dugway

    This is way off the beaten path and closer to Arizona border and Monument valley, but a 2.5 hour drive or so from Moab if on the way to another location. Epic would be an understatement.

  • Green River Overlook

    On the way to Grand View Point in Canyonlands National Park. There's a five to ten minute walk if turning directly right out of the parking lot and going up a bit of the rocky hill (there's no real trail, just head towards the hill) which leads to an otherworldly view.

  • Bryce Canyon National Park

    Not near Moab, but on the West side of Utah - very interesting hoodoo rock formations and worth visiting if time.

  • Homestead Overlook (Boulder Mountain)

    This is on Boulder Mountain and part of the Route 12/Hogback scenic drive. One of my favorite spots in all of Utah.

  • Highway 128 River Road

    Must-do while in the area - great scenic drive along the river. About 45 minutes to an hour, but worth stopping at viewpoints along the way. Epic views of Castle Valley and Fisher Towers which is some of the most iconic parts and scenery in the area.

  • The Hogback (Route 12)

    Not in or near Moab, but further west in Utah. Considered one of the most scenic drives in the U.S. - Route 12 from Torrey, UT down to Escalante, UT. If time, it's worth it - Boulder mountain is part of the route and there is a viewpoint called Homestead Overlook that is hard to describe.

  • High end fine dining - incredible food, good for a treat and splurge (no dress code and casual though).

  • Good Asian, Pho, etc.

  • Cluster of food trucks with variety of options.

  • Great italian, good italian pizza, etc.
